Celebrating ManiMe’s award-winning nail gels
We’re taking a moment to appreciate the BIG moments in our brand’s history
At ManiMe, we believe in taking the time to celebrate the little and big wins of each day. With this in mind, we wanted to look back at our company’s history to highlight the building momentum surrounding our brand and a recent string of industry award wins. However, before we look back, we want to say thank you. We are so appreciative of your enduring support. Without our community of nail artists and enthusiasts, we would not be the beauty-tech innovators we are today. We cannot wait to continue growing the ManiMe community and keep delivering long-lasting, custom-fit, stick on gel nails to you
The CARE Collection united 11 nail artists to support marginalized and vulnerable communities. We donated 100% of the profits from the CARE Collection to two organizations: PBA COVID-19 Relief Fund and the Movement for Black Lives Fund. The collection received media attention from outlets like Coveteur and Forbes.
“I love any Pride beauty statement that can last close to two weeks. So I’m all about these geometric rainbow-decked gel nail stickers from ManiMe’s new Care Collection. They’re perfectly fit for Pride Month, but also worth wearing the entire year. Most important, 100 percent of the proceeds from this ManiMe Care collection will be donated to the PBA COVID-19 Relief Fund & Movement for Black Lives Fund.”
- Camille Freestone, Associate Style Editor at Coveteur.
“A real gel manicure that you can peel, stick, and file onto your nails, and then peel off when you're ready to say goodbye to that manicure.”
- Jessica Chia, Contributing Editor at Allure
“Professional gel manicures typically mean longer-lasting and chip-proof paint jobs, but they can also entail spending an hour at a salon, a time-consuming process that can seem especially daunting in the midst of a pandemic. What if you could get the same results while at home? That’s the promise of ManiMe. Users upload photos of their nails to the company’s website, which uses 3-D modeling technology to create made-to-order gel-polish stickers to fit their nail beds. To get the manicure, just peel off the sticker, press it onto your nail, then file away any excess. That’s it—no drying time and no smudging. Each manicure is meant to last two weeks; when you’re ready for the next one, simply peel off the sticker.”
- Cady Lang, Staff Writer at Time Magazine
“A sharp-looking manicure comes at a price, especially for busy young professionals..She and co founder David Miró Llopis thought of a quicker solution--custom-fit, stick-on gel nails--and started ManiMe. Consumers simply take a photo of their nails and send it to the Santa Monica-based startup. ManiMe's 3D modeling and laser cutter create a custom fit, starting at just $15 per set.”
- Amy Feldman, Editor at Forbes
The BHM collection celebrates Black History Month by highlighting Black creatives, nail art styles, and organizations. For every BHM mani sold, a portion of the revenue will be donated to one of four charitable organizations, each one selected by our Black nail artists. The collection received coverage from outlets such as Essence (quote below) and The Zoe Report.
“But in the process of creating groundbreaking gel adhesives, ManiMe has equally prioritized amplifying Black talent. Since 2020, the brand has increased their Black partners by 25% and partners of color by 30%. And now, in celebration of Black History Month, they’re partnering with four well-known, talented, Black nail artists to add eight new designs to the ManiMe catalog. At $25 each, a portion of the revenue designs will be donated to an organization of the artists’ choosing that supports those impacted by systemic racism, poverty, oppression and more.”
- Blake Newby, Beauty Writer & Editor at Essence.
“Gel manicures were time-consuming and damaging, while stick-ons didn’t fit right or last long. Using her background in 3D modeling, Song devised a way to turn 2D smartphone photos of users’ hands into a 3D model, then custom print gel polish nail stickers that fit perfectly. ManiMe’s manicures range from $15 to $25, and work on both long and short nails. The company’s sales grew tenfold in 2020 as the pandemic shuttered salons. ManiMe also commissioned designs from hard-hit nail artists, providing them with a new revenue stream.”
